Police Officers Who Connived With Bagyenda to Steal BoU Documents Paraded Before Parliament

Four police officers attached to the security department of bank of Uganda have this morning been paraded before parliaments COSASE committee to explain their roles on facilitating the former director commercial banks supervision Justine Bagyenda to steal the bank files and documents.

The four included Charles Omollo a security assistant,kyambadde. Beatrice, job Turyahabwe and Adekot Juliet a personal guard to Bagyenda.

Yesterday the head of security at BOU Milton Orech Opio told the committee that the officers above facilitated Bagyenda to take the files in different stacks amidst breach of the central bank security procedures.

The chairperson of committee put the four under oath despite resistance from a one Juliet Adekot who had resisted citing police standing orders.

Katuntu however ruled her out of order citing the supremacy of the constitution and went ahead to administer the oath before directing a select committee of Cosase members led by brigadier Tuhakirwa to interrogate the four.

Katuntu has also directed the head of security BOU Milton Orech to surrender security camera footage and a report from the bank’s internal investigation into the alleged missing documents.
