Five teams from the CECAFA region will be in action throughout the weekend as the AFCON 2019 U-20 qualifiers enter second round.
Four; Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi will be at home with the latter set to face another nation from the region, Sudan.
All their four opponents plus Sudan are starting their campaigns at this stage after receiving a bye in the first round due to their previous performances; that explains the task ahead of the East Africans.
Uganda will be hosting Cameroon; Rwanda face defending champions Zambia as Tanzania take on Mali later on Sunday.
What they said;
Rwanda coach,Vincent Mashami: “We had enough training sessions together, and I’m positive that this team is in the right position physically and mentally to win against Zambia. It is chance to play against big teams like Zambia and we need to show that we are ready for the game,”
Uganda coach Matia Lule: “We have prepared very well to counter them. They’re a big team on the continent but we’re also an emerging force so no one should expect anything less from us.”
Tanzania coach Ammy Ninje: “Mali will introduce many new players, I hope so. But that will not be a big difference for us. We are preparing for the tough game and I believe we can make it. They play quick football and are sharp in attack. We have to be careful. We will play open an open game at home because we need more goals.”
