Museveni Appoints Blu-eyed boy Maj Kabila to Head SFC Commando Unit

President Museveni has appointed his blued eyed boy Major Jimmy Kabira as the deputy commander of Commando Section of Special Forces Command (SFC).

President Museveni the commander in chief of armed forces also recently promoted Kabira from the rank of Captain to Major after finishing commando course in Russia.

Maj Kabira is one of the finest and highly trained elite Special Forces Commandos Uganda has ever produced and has won president Museveni’s trust winning most of his daring war assignments in Uganda and abroad.

One of Kabila’s assignments was in 2011 at the time, when there were reports of children being recruited by the rebel Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) movement and creation of cells and murder of Muslim leaders.

By identifying the command structure of ADF in Busoga and through use of Ali Kabanda an operative, specialized forces such as police commando units and Special Forces Command (SFC) would then move in to restore sanity.

This after suspected ADF agents killed Sheikh Abdulkadir Muwaya at his home in Buyemba village in Mayuge Town Council.

Having been informed about the chaos in the police investigation, President Museveni dispatched a team from the Special Forces Command (SFC) led by then Captain Kabila to provide him with the truth.

Relying on Kabanda’s advice, Capt Kabila arrested the suspects who also voluntarily confessed to the murder.

Maj Kabila also recovered guns and arrested more suspects involved in the killings in Bugiri and Namayingo.

In 2014, Maj Kabila also participated in a rescue mission for Somali parliament after it was attacked and sieged by Alshaabab militants.

Al Shabaab militants had stormed Somalia’s parliament killing at least 10 security officers in a bomb and gun assault.

The attack on parliament, a building about 300 meters (328 yards) from the president’s palace that is guarded by Uganda Peoples Defense Force soldiers serving under Amisom.

The attack started with a car bomb at a gate to the heavily fortified parliament compound, followed by a suicide bombing and then a gun battle that continued for hours.

President after being informed that some Somali MPs were being held hostage inside parliament, he sent Maj Kabira to rescue them.

UPDF Commandos commanded by Maj Kabira managed to secure the parliament and rescue the legislators killing over 50 terrorists while UPDF lost three officers.

The African Union Mission in Somalia said in a statement that all the lawmakers who were in parliament before the attack were safely evacuated.

He also participated in other war assignments in Southern Sudan civil war between President Salva Kiir and his former vice president Dr Riek Machar.

When contacted, Major Kabira confirmed his new assignment given to him by the President said, “It’s true I was appointed by the president but am not the head, am second in command. My superior is Major Mugizi.
