The Kabale district Chairman Patrick Besigye Keihwa is under fire from public for assaulting a journalist Emmanuel Julius Arinaitwe working with Kabale based Voice of Kigezi.
It’s alleged that on Monday, Keihwa stormed Voice of Kigezi newsroom asking for Arinaitwe and on show up he allegedly beat him up into pulp.
Keihwa accused Arinaitwe for attending Kabale district council that sat on Monday and submitting the story to the editor in which he was accused by district councilors for conniving with former district engineer James Kiganda to sabotage district projects.
The councilors led by Kamuganguzi district councilor Julius Barusya and Maziba sub county woman councilor Norah Twenda accused Keihwa in an extra district council for conniving with Kiganda not to refund the money he had been ordered to pay back over shoddy work.
Kiganda came to limelight after misusing over 80m shillings to upgrade many roads in 2016.
Shortly after council, Keihwa stormed VOK asking for the story which had been submitted by Arinaitwe.
After realizing that he had submitted the said story he slapped him and ordered for his sacking from VOK.
He also accused of him allegedly getting a bribe from Councilors to write such stories.
