Security is investigating the circumstances under which a vehicle belonging to the deputy director Police Crime Intelligence was impounded in robbery.
Deputy Director Crime intelligence SCP Charles Asaba’s car has been impounded in a robbery in Mukono and his driver arrested.
According to information this investigative obtained by this website, Charles Tumusiime who was driving his boss’s registration number UAZ640Q Grey pick up was arrested by security in Mukono where he is being detained.
Tumusiime was armed with other two people and a lady identified as Malaika and tried to break in whole sale shop in Mukono but security was alerted and swung into action and rounded them up.
Sources in crime intelligence narrated to us that, SCP Asaba is now praying to his boss not to fire him because he was not part of this robbery.
His filed is being handled by the deputy IGP Muzeyi Sabiti.
Police chief Martin Okoth Ochola has since ordered PSU to investigate Asaba saying that he could be with more knowledge about the ongoing armed robberies in Kampala.
When contacted Kampala metropolitan spokesperson ASP Luke Owoyesigire confirmed that the car was impounded and that the driver is in custody.
